At First State Bank and Trust Company, Inc., the basis of each customer relationship, many of which span generations, is trust. You have chosen to do business with First State Bank and Trust Company, Inc., and we are obligated to honor that relationship with great care, beginning with the information you have chosen to share with us.

Our Customer Information Privacy Principles serve as standards for all First State Bank and Trust Company, Inc., employees for collection, use, retention, and security of individual customer information.
DISCLOSURE OF CERTAIN INFORMATION
First State Bank and Trust Company, Inc. will not share and/or sell individual customer information to any unaffiliated party for marketing purposes.
First State Bank and Trust Company, Inc., will not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, except as permitted by law.
Customer information will only be disclosed to authorized account holders, and only after identification of that account holder has been verified. Verifying information may include social security number, date of birth, mother’s maiden name, signature, and/or other identifying information. If the information request is made over the telephone and we are uncertain about the identity of the person requesting the information, we will ask that the request be made in writing or in person.
First State Bank and Trust Company, Inc. employees will not share personal or financial customer information with unaffiliated third parties except when legally required (in order to comply with federal or state laws or regulations, and government or court orders) or when legally permitted to serve the customer’s interests (such as disclosure to reputable credit reporting agencies).
Information will only be disclosed to third parties under the following conditions:
- Where it is necessary to complete a transaction initiated by the customer.
- In order to report the existence and condition of an account to companies such as reputable credit bureaus or merchants.
- In order to comply with government or court orders.
- If we have the written permission of the account holder.
First State Bank and Trust Company, Inc. will provide certain customer information to unaffiliated third party companies that we hire to provide us operational support. These unaffiliated third party companies provide services that allow us to complete transactions, such as real estate loans. Examples of these services include, but are not limited to, appraisals, title searches, flood certifications, and credit reports. First State Bank and Trust Company, Inc. will not knowingly do business with any unaffiliated third party provider or company that uses or sells this information for marketing purposes.
COLLECTION, RETENTION AND USE OF INFORMATION
First State Bank and Trust Company, Inc. may collect, retain and use personal information about customers (for example, we will obtain a credit report for a loan), but only as we believe is reasonably useful in administering our business and to provide products, services, and other opportunities to customers.
MAINTENANCE OF ACCURATE INFORMATION
First State Bank and Trust Company, Inc. realizes the establishment of procedures, to ensure that a customer’s financial information is accurate, current, and in complete accordance with commercial standards, is an important factor in providing customer privacy. Procedures currently in place include the maintenance of records in a secure location and the daily review of all balancing accounts. The daily review ensures balancing and accurate information is being used in the daily operations of the bank. Strict adherence is also observed of the bank’s record retention program concerning customer data.
First State Bank and Trust Company, Inc. also realizes the obligation to respond to customer requests to correct inaccurate information in a timely manner. When inaccurate information is brought to the attention of the bank, corrective action is undertaken to investigate the issue. If the issue is determined to be the fault of the bank, immediate corrective action is taken. Otherwise, further investigation will continue and the customer will be notified of the results of the investigation as soon as administratively possible.
EMPLOYEE ACCESS TO INFORMATION AND ENFORCEMENT
All First State Bank and Trust Company, Inc., employees are educated on the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy. They are thoroughly trained to learn and follow our Privacy Policy. Employees with access to customer information are required to adhere to the Privacy Policy.
The Compliance Officer maintains responsibility for the administration of the bank's privacy program.
Any employee that violates the Privacy Policy will be subject to disciplinary measures (warnings, suspensions, reprimands) and possible termination of employment.
Employees will only have access to customer information on a need to know basis. All employees of the bank have been educated in the understanding of the importance of confidentiality and customer privacy. Divulgence of customer information for non-bank purposes is strictly prohibited.
IT IS OUR POLICY THAT WE WILL NOT SELL OR RENT CUSTOMER INFORMATION TO ANY UNAFFILIATED THIRD PARTY FOR MARKETING PURPOSES.
YOUR CONTROL OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION
We do not share information with any third parties (other than required by law, regulation or contractual obligations), so you should not receive information from another company as a result of providing information to First State Bank and Trust Company, Inc. However, if you provide us with your postal address you may receive periodic mailings from us, or our affiliates, with information on products, services or upcoming events.
Additionally, First State Bank and Trust Company, Inc. offers internet banking to our customers. The Privacy Policy Disclosure is available to our customers at the website www.fsbtrust.com. In circumstances where you provide personal information (for example, e-mail address, name, or postal address) and you do not wish to receive e-mail or product information from us in the future, please let us know by indicating your preference on our site, sending us an e-mail or writing us at our address at the bottom of this page.

CONSUMER’S RIGHT TO OPT OUT
In the event First State Bank and Trust Company, Inc. decides to share personal customer information with non-exempt third parties, First State Bank and Trust Company, Inc. will offer the customer the ability to opt-out, that is the customer may direct the bank to not make the disclosures. At this time, First State Bank and Trust Company, Inc. does not share customer information with non-exempt parties.
PROVIDING PRIVACY INFORMATION TO CUSTOMERS AND RESPONDING TO INQUIRIES
First State Bank and Trust Company, Inc. will require additional information from all customers in order to have a continuing relationship with that customer, organization, etc. This additional information may be in the form of a photo identification, proof of a valid social security number, alien registration card, U.S. passport, etc. This additional information will not be disclosed to unaffiliated third parties, but it will be used by Senior Management of First State Bank and Trust Company, Inc. to monitor accounts for a possible match of customer information to the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the U.S. Department of Treasury, and for any other purpose to comply with all Federal and State regulations.
